Monitor backups using email notifications

To make it easier to monitor backups, users can receive emails when backups finish or fail. Admin users and regular users in Portal can set up email notifications for a computer. See Set up email notifications for backups on a computer.

In some Portal instances, email notifications are configured centrally for Windows systems with Agent version 8.0 or later, Linux systems with Agent version 8.10a or later, and vSphere Recovery Agent 8.40 or later, instead of separately for each computer. When email notifications are configured centrally in a Portal instance, admin users can also receive email notifications when the encryption password changes for a backup job or when a potential ransomware threat is detected during a backup.
